First, to get started, get started RIGHT.  Find some good teachers, good mentors, and good places to practice.  If you don’t have acting schools in your area, practice with your friends.  No excuses, right?

Second, make sure you focus on your training. It doesn’t necessarily have to be a formal school, but yes, you need training.  Every actor needs to learn the craft.

Third, practice acting wherever and whenever you can. Ideally, work with a group of people who love acting as much as you do every week, so you can actually practice in real acting scenarios.

As you continue, ask EVERYONE you know (who knows about acting) to correct you on every mistake made.  Always.  It’s the quickest way to improve--via instant correction.

Finally, put together a solid study plan and schedule, using the many resources we have assembled for you on the pages to come.
