Meet us ONLINE in the BD - Game Room chatroom (and then we will jump to Zoom).
Description: Let's have some friendly 10-minute chess games together. Super fun, and we get to talk to one another on zoom while we play! We will break out into zoom rooms, 2 to a room. If you don't know how to play, or prefer just to watch, we will add you to one of the zoom rooms to observe the battle royale! :D NOTE: If you wish to be one of the players during the event (rather than just a game observer), you must first create an account on Chess.com, and then share your username during the event.
- All events are shown in YOUR local time zone.
- Most online events start with text chat in a chatroom, and then switch to Zoom. We recommend you turn on your camera, but you are not required to do so. We hope you will!
- All events are currently free. If there's a particular event you'd like us to set up, please let us know!
- Can't make it? Please cancel at least 2 hours before the event starts so someone else can take your spot.
- No-shows: if you don't cancel at least 2 hours before the start, or you don't show up, you get 1 strike.
- Late: if the event starts in a chatroom, joining any part of the chatroom portion is on time, but joining only the Zoom portion counts as late. For Zoom-only events, joining more than 10 minutes after the start counts as late. 2 lates = 1 strike.
- 3 strikes in 12 months pauses your event signups. 1 strike is removed for every 3 months without a new strike.
- Exceptions: a documented medical emergency (note signed by a doctor) or family emergency (note signed by a family member) is excused. Please contact staff.
- This policy applies to all members, including paid members.
- A $5 donation removes 1 strike. After you donate, please contact staff and we'll remove it.
