1. When and Why Did You Decide to Pursue This Dive At This Level? What was your inspiration and motivation?

When I was young, I always dreamed to travel the world one day. I love to explore the new places and learn different cultures. Therefore, I thought to start by traveling domestic first, step by step until I can travel to other countries in the future. I chose to travel to Borobudur Temple in Magelang, Central Java, Indonesia as my first destination to go because it’s the largest Buddhist temple in the world and the most impressive archaeological site in Southeast Asia.

2. How Long Did It Take For You To Accomplish This Dive At This Level From The Day You Decided To Pursue It, And Why Did It Take That Long?

I decided to start traveling domestically alone as I feel boring with daily routines, stressful, and need some adventures in life. But at the moment, it's difficult to find friends who have the same interest to travel or sometimes, I have friends who love travel but the schedule is not suitable for us to travel together. I think if I have to wait for friends to go, I probably will never start to travel anywhere so I have decided to do it by myself, to travel as a solo female traveler both domestic and abroad.

3. What Was The Hardest Part About Achieving This Particular Dive Level?

Traveling solo is challenging to me because there is no one to share the cost for accommodation, transport, or tour packages.  Sometimes it's hard to find a tour to join because you need minimum 2 pax to order.  If I travel with friends, I can split the cost and it will be cheaper. And also, traveling alone, there is no one to take the photos I want but sometimes, I can ask help from people I meet.

4. What Was The Easiest Part About Achieving This Particular Dive Level?

Getting the information and not worrying about getting lost because I don’t have any trouble to communicate with others when traveling domestically: we are using the same language. I’ve already known about the culture and the food to eat as well, being familiar as in my home country.

5. What Is Your Advice For Someone Who Is Pursuing This Dive And Level?

Do not be scared to travel the new places! If you really want to visit the place, with or without friends, just go and explore. Before you start to travel, better to plan well about the accommodation, how long you want to stay, and make an itinerary regarding what you’ll be doing. Don’t forget to smile as you: will get new friends easily during the trips. 😊

7. Tell Us A Story Of One Of Your Adventures While Pursuing This Dive (At This Level).

As it was my first time to travel as a solo female traveler in a new city, I felt a little worried and unsafe to walk alone at night for the first day.   I had just arrived. Then I booked day trip on a local tour to explore Borobudur Temple.  Then I met people who have the same tour as me.

Actually the local tour I have booked is only to provide a transportation to Borobudur Temple, Magelang from Yogyakarta.  They leave us to explore the places by ourselves once arrived with duration, no tour guide.  I didn't read it well that it was the transportation only.

The next day after the local tour, I have explored the Yogyakarta with someone from the local tour as I told her am traveling solo and then we become friends. It’s great to feel that we always can make new friends during the trips so don’t worry about traveling solo as you will never be alone or even lonely.

I also met children who asked to take a photo with me.  They think that I am a Korean and even try to speak English with me.  I want to tell them that I am Indonesian but then looking their smile to wish taking a photo with a foreigner, I just smile and didn't say anything because I want to make them happy.  I also take a photo with them to remember the moment, that's lovely.  When I am traveling alone, people often think that I am a foreigner.

8. What Evidence Did You Submit to Prove You Met the Requirements for This Dive and Level?

I would like to share my photos during the trip to Borobudur Temple

9. Will You Be Pursuing The Next Level For This Dive? If Yes, Why? If Not, Why Not?

Yes, I will pursue the next level as there are so many beautiful cities in my home country that I haven’t visited yet .

10. What is the Break Diver's Creed?

No Rules.  No Excuses.  No Regrets.
