1. When and Why Did You Decide to Pursue This Dive At This Level? What was your inspiration and motivation?

I had a hard life since I was young so I’ve dreamed how to make my life better by getting a good career in the future. Then I made a decision to be an Accountant as my career since I was in the Senior High School.  Actually, it’s not really my dream job but due to financial condition then I think it’s easier to get a job. In my opinion, Accounting is a stable and growing job field to work in with good salary.

2. How Long Did It Take For You To Accomplish This Dive At This Level From The Day You Decided To Pursue It, And Why Did It Take That Long?

I’ve prepared it for almost two years before I started to continue my study to college and choose the major in accounting. I have to save money first so that I can continue my study to the college and get a bachelor’s degree in accounting then start to apply a job as an Accountant in the company.

3. What Was The Hardest Part About Achieving This Particular Dive Level?

How to obtain a bachelor’s degree in accounting is the hardest part. To get an entry level accounting position, you have to get a bachelor’s degree as the standard minimum requirement. I had to work hard by getting a full-time and also part time job in order to afford my tuition fee.  I had to work full-time starting from 8 am – 5 pm, then continue my college at 7 pm – 10 pm then continue my part time job to record daily transaction journal entry into excel worksheet in the small freight company from 11 pm  – 12 am.  Sometimes I need to work until 2am, especially on the weekend. How to manage the time well is also challenging to me because I wanted to finish my bachelor degree with good GPA score as well so that I could compete with others when applying for a job.

4. What Was The Easiest Part About Achieving This Particular Dive Level?

I am detail oriented and meticulous.  I could learn the basics of accounting by myself to improve my knowledge.  In the job interview as an entry level, I was able to pass the test easily.

7. Tell Us A Story Of One Of Your Adventures While Pursuing This Dive (At This Level).

After finished my bachelor’s degree with GPA 3.6 of 4.0, I started to apply for a job as an accountant in one of the big companies.

I was very interested in the position as they will provide the internship training in Finance, Accounting, Tax, Legal and Cash Management.

I tried to apply even though I didn’t meet the requirements to have 3-4 years working experiences in the supervisor level because I was just a fresh graduate only.

They will only hire 10 persons only from 100 candidates.

With a strong determination, hard work and good self-motivation, I have passed the interview and all the tests.  I am feeling grateful to get the job as I am the youngest one to be chosen at that time. I can learn directly by practicing the skill and knowledge in the field and get paid at once.

I remember my boss said “You can’t be the same, but you can be better” and since then, I start to pursue my career to the next level because I want to be better, always be better than yesterday.
