1. When and Why Did You Decide to Pursue This Dive At This Level? What was your inspiration and motivation?

I have been acting for as long I can remember, but I decided to fully build myself up in it when I finished my senior secondary school education in 2018.

Acting is life. It lets you live in a whole new world that you never imagined visiting. It gives you a fresh breath of existence. I wanted to feel all this and more, that’s why I decided to pursue this dive. I am at this current level because this is my starting stage for awesomeness.

2. How Long Did It Take For You To Accomplish This Dive At This Level From The Day You Decided To Pursue It, And Why Did It Take That Long?

It took me my entire holiday, that is, 11 months, to accomplish my dream of acting in a live staged drama. It took this long because dramas are not something you see every day. There must be an event or program to enable one to act. The opportunity came twice throughout the holiday.

3. What Was The Hardest Part About Achieving This Particular Dive Level?

I guess the hardest part for me and every other artist was playing the character. I had the challenge of trying to blend in with my role. Acting as The Devil was never an easy role because you had to make the faces, the walks, the laugh, the evil humor, and yes, the evil talks. My normal being had to become a totally different person. It was said that it takes an actor 5 seconds to understand the role and 5 seconds to get into character, well, at least for me. This was the rule of acting I had to blend with.

Acting is beautiful when you act as the character perfectly well. This, for me, was the hardest part.

4. What Was The Easiest Part About Achieving This Particular Dive Level?

The easiest part of this level for me was the passion I had for acting. I got to meet new people every day and see other cast members in action. It was so amazing to see new roles acted out perfectly, testing you to take it up. Acting isn’t focused on race, color, or size. It requires you to enjoy yourself on stage and just play the role. This is the beauty of stage acting and these were the parts I enjoyed the most.

5. What Is Your Advice For Someone Who Is Pursuing This Dive And Level?

It is said that “No man is an island”. That means you can’t just wait on your butt to get an acting role in a play. No matter how small the role may be, you have to find a role. The role could not even be for pay. Just know that any role you get, you’re making yourself stand out from the crowd. If you love acting, this beginning stage is for you to claim: go find a part to play. Yes, you can and you will. Also, take advantage of the holidays too. Ha!

7. Tell Us A Story Of One Of Your Adventures While Pursuing This Dive (At This Level).

I remember the second play I starred in: “The Passion of Christ”. I was to take the role of a gossip. Being a new recruit, I was overlooked because I was looked at as an amateur. Several people had gone up on stage to audition out the part but couldn’t get it right.

Then, there came my moment. I went up on stage, and everyone was distracted with other things. They thought I was also a lost cause. Behold! A loud voice with strong emotions of a true gossip came from the stage, capturing everyone’s attention! It was Me! Ha! Ooh the look on their faces, wondering who I was and where I came from.

Ooh yeah, I am Chioma and I am in the house baby, fear my name! It was indeed a beautiful and triumphant moment for me. It marked my full entry into the heart of the play. After that day, I auditioned for many other roles (and I was victorious with them too!) Sometimes the roles were strange and difficult, but they were still ultimately victorious.

8. What Evidence Did You Submit to Prove You Met the Requirements for This Dive and Level?

  1. I submitted a private video of my performance to the Break Diving dive committee.

  2. Here is a picture of me with some of my cast members from “The Passion of Christ”. I am the one in the middle, frowning.

9. Will You Be Pursuing The Next Level For This Dive? If Yes, Why? If Not, Why Not?

I know I am still in the baby stage and need to move on, so yes, I will pursue the next level of this dive. Emotions baby! Emotions!

10. What is the Break Diver's Creed?

No Rules. No Excuses. No Regrets.
