1. When and Why Did You Decide to Pursue This Dive At This Level? What was your inspiration and motivation?

I decided to pursue this Dive because I wanted to challenge myself to develop an idea into a real novel concept. I chose to start at Level 1 because I wanted to learn how to create the basic foundation of a novel by developing a title, outline, and back cover blurb.

2. How Long Did It Take For You To Accomplish This Dive At This Level From The Day You Decided To Pursue It, And Why Did It Take That Long?

It took me about seven hours to accomplish this Level 1 Dive. I spent the time developing my story idea, choosing a title, creating the basic outline, and especially working on the back cover blurb because I wanted it to describe the story in an interesting way without giving everything away.

3. What Was The Hardest Part About Achieving This Particular Dive Level?

The hardest part was deciding exactly which direction I wanted the story to go. Writing the back cover blurb was also challenging because I had to make the story sound interesting while keeping it short and not revealing too much.

4. What Was The Easiest Part About Achieving This Particular Dive Level?

The easiest part was coming up with ideas for the story because it is loosely inspired by my life. Having my own experiences as inspiration made it easier to develop the characters, situations, and emotions I wanted to include while still making the story fictional.

5. What Is Your Advice For Someone Who Is Pursuing This Dive And Level?

My advice is to stop overthinking and simply sit down and start. Give yourself some time to develop your title, outline, and back cover blurb, even if the first version isn’t perfect, because you can always improve it later.

7. Tell Us A Story Of One Of Your Adventures While Pursuing This Dive (At This Level).

When I first started pursuing this Dive, I thought I was already doing it correctly. I thought that simply having an idea for a novel was enough, but during a Zoom meeting I was told that I needed to focus specifically on the Level 1 requirements.

I learned that Level 1 was about creating the basic foundation of a novel rather than trying to complete an entire book. I needed to come up with a title, create a basic outline, and write a back cover blurb.

At first, I wasn’t completely sure which direction I wanted the story to take. Since my story is loosely inspired by my life but is still fictional, I started using some of my own experiences as inspiration while changing the details and creating a fictional story.

The back cover blurb ended up being the most challenging part for me. I had to figure out how to make someone interested in the story without explaining everything that happens, so I spent time rewriting it until I was happy with it.

By the end of the process, I had a finished title, a basic outline, and a back cover blurb for my novel, The Girl Nobody Really Knew. Completing these three things made the idea feel much more like a real book and made me excited to continue developing it.

8. What Evidence Did You Submit to Prove You Met the Requirements for This Dive and Level?

I provided my completed title, basic outline, and back cover blurb for my upcoming novel, "The Girl Nobody Really Knew" to Break Diving staff. They have reviewed and verified it. I do not want it public yet as it is still a work in progress.

9. Will You Be Pursuing The Next Level For This Dive? If Yes, Why? If Not, Why Not?

Yes, I will be pursuing the next level because completing the Level 1 requirements made me more interested in developing the novel further. I want to continue building the story, improving my writing, and turning the idea into a more complete novel.
