1. When and Why Did You Decide to Pursue This Dive At This Level? What was your inspiration and motivation?
Exactly on June 28, 2021 for the dive, but I had started pursuing it before I joined Break Diving. I’ve always written, and nearly always journaled. But the main reason I chose this is because I want to finish my autobiography and eventually publish writings and start a blog. I just have a lot of writings and drafts and things that I either haven't finished all the way or haven't published. I want to be more of an official writer instead of just a private writer that almost no one knows about.
2. How Long Did It Take For You To Accomplish This Dive At This Level From The Day You Decided To Pursue It, And Why Did It Take That Long?
Well…I started writing my autobiography in high school and I’ve worked on it ever since. I can always edit and revise more, which I tend to get stuck in doing. It has taken long because I need to have people read it and give feedback, and because I never feel it’s finished enough or ready to be seen. I have let three people read it but only one finished it and gave any feedback. As for the blog, I created one but never launched it. I recently started it up on a different platform. It still isn’t launched but there’s some stuff posted.
3. What Was The Hardest Part About Achieving This Particular Dive Level?
I love writing and expressing but I fear sharing. I not only worry what people will be thinking about what I write but I feel it’s unfinished and not perfected enough. So coming up with ideas and starting the writing is easy but finishing/knowing when to stop editing is hard. Knowing when to move on from the draft stage and have people read and finding people who have time to read and who can give good feedback is super hard. As for a blog, it takes some familiarizing with the platform and time to get everything set up.
4. What Was The Easiest Part About Achieving This Particular Dive Level?
For the autobiography: the writing, getting it all out, and thinking about it all. Coming up with themes, titles, and deciding the order. For the blog: coming up with topic ideas and starting drafts has been the easiest.
5. What Is Your Advice For Someone Who Is Pursuing This Dive And Level?
We have the desire to do things, to write things, for a reason. No matter how scary it might be, don’t listen to the doubt. We’re meant to share our stories and experiences.
6. What Are Some Of The Best Resources You Recommend to Those Pursuing This Dive At This Level, And Why Do You Recommend Them? Please Include Relevant Weblinks, If Applicable.
1) A writer’s forum because it can be helpful to talk to other writers, review their work, and share your work. You can find beta readers through it. 2) Google docs because writing all drafts in there lets you organize, format, and keep track of all your work easily. It also allows you to have a copy incase you try to post a draft on a blog or something and it doesn't go through and gets erased.

7. Tell Us A Story Of One Of Your Adventures While Pursuing This Dive (At This Level).
I would say I'm living that adventure right now. Life itself is an adventure. After my second big spiritual experience 13 years ago, which set me on the path to pursuing goals that I'm still on now, I was even more determined to write and finish my autobiography. I did not know why I had such a strong desire to write about my life when I began. I also didn't understand what place my writing inclinations had in my career. I had a lot of questions, including what my purpose and the meaning of life was, and felt unable to connect pieces together or explain my feelings. I have continued to learn and grow since then through self-reflection and studying spirituality and psychology. Things make a lot more sense to me at this point. Sometimes you have to live with uncertainty before having answers so you can really be certain of truth when the answers come.
8. What Evidence Did You Submit to Prove You Met the Requirements for This Dive and Level?
1) A PDF of some thing I wrote just for practice as a writing sample, inspired by me realizing how negatively people view social media and how I couldn't really relate because I was using it differently than they were and getting benefits from it. 2) A URL with some other writings, including social media posts I've written as a volunteer and freelancer: https://www.clippings.me/users/rebecca-rullo
9. Will You Be Pursuing The Next Level For This Dive? If Yes, Why? If Not, Why Not?
Yes. I want to overcome my self-doubts and fears about expressing myself and finish and share my work.
10. What is the Break Diver's Creed?
No excuses, no regrets, no rules.
